KonoSuba Season 3 Release Date

Exciting news for KonoSuba fans! The highly anticipated Season 3 of Konosuba is currently in production and set to premiere soon, according to Kadokawa’s announcement in May 2022.

While there’s no official airing date, we predict that Konosuba Season 3 could air as early as January 2024.

In addition to Season 3, Kadokawa has also confirmed a spin-off anime series, which will be adapted from the novel KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! The spin-off will air in April 2023.

What Is KonoSuba Season 3 About?

KonoSuba is a popular isekai franchise centered around a shut-in boy named Kazuma Sato who dies in a truck accident and is greeted by the goddess Aqua.

Aqua offers to send him to a new world with magic and monsters, and Kazuma chooses to bring Aqua with him.

Along the way, they find new friends and embark on comedic adventures. The franchise originated as a light novel series and has since been adapted into manga and anime.

The upcoming third season of the anime will follow Kazuma’s party as they catch the attention of the royal family and get involved in a conspiracy to impersonate them.

Additionally, Darkness agrees to marry Lord Alderp to save her family from debt, which could cause the group to start falling apart.

Konosuba Season 3 Studio News

Kadokawa produced the last two seasons of KonoSuba, and Studio Deen animated them. J.C. Staff animated the KonoSuba movie.

For the upcoming third season, the animation duties have been given to Studio Drive, a relatively new studio in the anime industry that was founded in 2015.

Their most notable work so far is the second season of To Your Eternity. It remains to be seen if they can successfully animate KonoSuba.

Takaomi Kanasaki, the director of the previous seasons, will serve as the chief director for the new season.

Yujiro Abe, who directed episodes for Kaguya-sama: Love is War, will be the new series director. Makoto Uezu will return for the series composition, and Koichi Kikuta will return as the series character designer.

It’s confirmed that Studio Drive will also handle the animation for the new KonoSuba spin-off. The same staff from season 3 will work on the spin-off, which is expected to air in April 2023.
