Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 received the green light following the conclusion of Season 2, which wrapped up its run from July to December 2023 covering the whole Shibuya Incident arc.

At the moment, there’s no official release date for JJK season 3. However, it’s expected to come out in 2025. Any earlier release would be surprising given the scale of the upcoming story arc. Fans can expect a similar episode count and a wait time akin to the 15-month gap between the first two seasons.

The initial cryptic teaser? It was a mere glimpse to build excitement, offering no clues about the Season 3 release date. Typically, such secrecy implies that a quick release is unlikely, so mid to late 2025 seems like the earliest we might see more Jujutsu action.

However, with MAPPA handling the Chainsaw Man and Zombieland movies, as well as Hell’s Paradise Season 2, a 2026 release for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 could be more feasible to maintain the high quality fans expect.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, we continue the saga following the intense Shibuya Incident arc. The arc saw the antagonist ‘Geto’ and his accomplice Mahito attempting a bold plan to permanently seal away the powerful sorcerer Gojo Satoru. However, their plan faced unexpected resistance.

Amidst the chaos, protagonists Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro emerged as key players, thwarting the villains’ efforts. Meanwhile, Choso, one of the Death Painting Wombs, targeted Yuji but experienced hallucinations that led him to question his motives.

Tragically, not all our heroes emerged unscathed. The fan favorite character Nanami Kento fell at the hands of Mahito, and Nobara Kugisaki suffered grave injuries, leaving her fate uncertain.

The climax revealed ‘Geto’ as Kenjaku, an ancient curse user, who activated latent abilities in unsuspecting individuals, including Tsumiki Fushiguro, hinting at a larger, more sinister agenda.

The repercussions were severe: Gojo was banished from the jujutsu community, and Yuji was condemned to death, with Yuta Okkotsu, introduced in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, appointed as his executioner. The stage is set for a chaotic continuation of the series.

Attention, Jujutsu Kaisen fans – Season 3 will likely not begin with with the much-anticipated Culling Games arc. Before we plunge into this pivotal storyline from the manga (chapters 159-221), it’s probable that we’ll explore some preliminary story arcs.

I suspect the season will commence with the Itadori’s Extermination arc (chapters 137-143), focusing on Yuji Itadori’s harrowing brush with execution. This could seamlessly transition into the Perfect Preparation arc (chapters 144-158), setting the stage for the upcoming Culling Games – a tournament teeming with high-stakes battles.

Considering Season 2 adapted approximately 70 chapters, and with Season 3 set to tackle over 80, it’s likely that some content will be condensed to maintain a fast story pace. We can anticipate a season comprising 23 or 24 episodes, though the producers might extend it by an additional 2 or 3 episodes to ensure a faithful adaptation.
